The South Indian Welfae Association (SIWA) of Navi Mumbai, has done a commendable job by constructing a fully furnished centre for performing Apara Kriya (Performing post death rites), at Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai. The foundation stone for the centre was laid by His Holiness Jagadguru Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam. The centre was inagurated in May 2002. The centre has been named SAAYUJYUAM and has 12 fully furnished rooms with Kitchen. The families can stay for all the 12 days at the centre itself and perform the post death rites as prescribed in our scriptures. All the rooms are well equipped with utensils for the Rites and cooking including cooking gas. It also has a well furnished spacious hall (which can accomodate upto 350 persons) for holding condolence meetings. A WELL has also been nicely constructed at the centre of the building; the water from which can be used in the rites. The charges are extremely reasonable (almost negligible). For deserving cases, the facilities are offered free of cost. Our Dharma Shastras have proclaimed "Matra Devo Bhava, Pitra Devo Bhava" (be one to whom the Mother & Father is a deity). We must treat our parents with respect and do all we can do to keep them happy and in comfort. We cannot compensate them for all the sacrifices they have made for us. After they depart from this mortal word, we must without fail offer libations to them and perform their post death ceremonies as prescribed in the scriptures. It is the duty of every son to perform the post death ceremonies as prescribed in the scriptures with faith and reverance after the death of his parents. In their subtle form after death the departed soul can quench its thirst and satisfy its hunger only through the libations offered by their son else they suffer immensely of thirst and hunger. Hence the lord himself has extolled the merits of performance of these rites in the Garuda Purana. Keeping the above in mind, SIWA SAAYUJYAM, has been built so as to facilitate those who are in search for a suitable place for performing such rites. THE ADDRESS OF SIWA SAAYUJYAM IS : ------------------------------------------------------------- SIWA SAAYUJYAM - THE APARA KRIYA CENTRE Plot No.20, Sector 14 Next to Krishna Towers Kopar Khairane Navi Mumbai 400 705 Tel: 2754 6831 / 2765 0182 / 2766 2112 / 2766 5294 Incidently the above centre is efficiently managed by a group of like minded persons, who are young in their age but who have great vision. The centre is run on a no loss no profit basis. This project is for a very noble cause and a very unique project of its kind in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai. Our shastras and Acharyas have time and again extolled the merits of participating in this poortha karma. LOKA SAMASTHA SUKINO BHAVANTHU

Very pitiable condition in maintenance, if any NRI/foreigner see the Assam House he will certainly say that how poor the Assam people is and its cultural habit though the nature have given a lot of resources. If I say in one word the cultural minister have think only his pocket not to Assam's dignity. Very shameful, really very shameful
